Video Annotation Services
Labels That Stay Consistent From Frame One to the Last
Video is where annotation quality is easiest to lose. A pedestrian who walks behind a bus and comes back out should keep the same track ID, a box should not jitter between frames, and an action has to start and stop at the same moment for every annotator. Zilo AI's video annotation services are built around that consistency, with guidelines agreed on a pilot clip before volume work begins.
We annotate traffic and dashcam footage, CCTV and retail video, sports and fitness clips, drone footage, manufacturing lines and user-generated content. Choose a managed project with QA-checked delivery, or dedicated annotators who work in your tool, such as CVAT, Label Studio, Encord or V7.
Object Tracking
Boxes or polygons that follow each object across frames with a persistent ID, including through occlusion and re-entry.
Actions and Events
Start and end timestamps for actions, events and scene changes, labelled at clip, segment or frame level.
Smart Use of Keyframes
Keyframe labelling with interpolation where it is accurate, and full frame-by-frame work where it is not.
Temporal QA
Reviewers play the labels back as video to catch ID switches, drifting boxes and missed frames.
What We Annotate
Video Annotation Types We Deliver
From single-object tracking to dense multi-class scenes and LiDAR sequences, each task runs to your taxonomy and your rules for occlusion, re-entry and timing.
Video Data Annotator
Annotates video at clip, segment and frame level, labeling objects frame by frame, marking actions, events and scene changes with timestamps and selecting keyframes, so temporal models learn what happens and when.
Bounding Box, Polygon & Segmentation
Draws tight 2D boxes, detailed polygons and pixel-level semantic, instance or panoptic masks wherever shape matters, from vehicles and pedestrians to crop rows, product packaging and surface defects.
Keypoint & Pose Annotation
Places skeletal keypoints and landmarks on people, hands, faces and objects, with visibility flags for occluded points, to train pose estimation, gesture recognition, sports analytics and ergonomics models.
Video Object Tracking
Follows every object across frames with persistent track IDs, re-identifies objects after occlusion and reviews interpolated boxes, producing clean trajectories for multi-object tracking, traffic and retail analytics.
3D Point Cloud / LiDAR Annotation
Fits 3D cuboids and point-level labels to LiDAR and radar point clouds, tracks objects across sweeps and links them to camera frames for autonomous driving, robotics, drone and mapping datasets.
For ML & Data Teams
How to Brief a Video Annotation Vendor
Video annotation costs scale with frames, so small decisions in the brief change the bill and the quality at the same time. Settle these points before you send footage to any vendor, Zilo AI included.
Questions to ask any annotation vendor
- How do you keep track IDs stable when an object leaves the frame and comes back?
- When do you interpolate between keyframes, and how do you check the frames in between?
- How do you review a labelled clip: frame by frame, as playback, or both?
- How do annotators agree on the exact frame where an action starts and ends?
- Can your team work inside our annotation tool and our storage?
- How do you handle very long videos and split them without breaking tracks?
Pick the Sampling Rate
Decide whether every frame is labelled or a sample, such as a few frames a second. Many models do not need every frame.
Define Track Identity
Write down when an object keeps its ID and when it gets a new one: after leaving the frame, after full occlusion, after a camera cut.
Define Action Boundaries
Say exactly what marks the first and last frame of each action. Without this, timestamps vary from annotator to annotator.
Agree How Clips Are Split
Long recordings are usually cut into segments. Agree the overlap so tracks can be joined back together.
Pilot on Your Hardest Footage
Run the pilot on crowded, dark or fast scenes, not the easy ones. That is where the guideline will break.
Fix the Output Format Early
Tracking formats differ between tools. Agree the export, for example COCO-style JSON, MOT or your own schema, before labelling starts.

What video annotation services does Zilo AI offer?
We provide frame-by-frame object labelling, multi-object tracking with persistent IDs, action and event recognition with timestamps, temporal segmentation, scene classification, keypoint and pose tracking, and 3D LiDAR sequence annotation.
Do you label every frame or use interpolation?
Both. Where motion is smooth we label keyframes and interpolate, then review the in-between frames. Where objects move unpredictably we label frame by frame. We agree the approach with you on the pilot.
How do you check video annotation quality?
Reviewers check labels frame by frame and also play them back as video, which catches ID switches, jittering boxes and missed frames that a still-frame review misses. Gold-standard clips and consensus checks run throughout.
Which tools and formats do you work with?
Our annotators work in CVAT, Label Studio, Labelbox, SuperAnnotate, Encord, V7 or your own tool, and deliver in COCO, YOLO or your custom schema.
Can you handle long or high-volume footage?
Yes. For ongoing, high-volume pipelines a dedicated team works exclusively on your project, with a single point of contact.
Can we start with a small pilot?
Yes. Send a few representative clips and your guidelines, and we will annotate a calibration batch so you can review it before you scale.
Ready to Start Your Video Annotation Project?
Share a few sample clips and your taxonomy, and we will annotate a pilot batch so you can judge tracking and timing quality before you commit.
