Cloud Architect Staffing
Foundations Designed Before They Get Expensive to Change
The first decisions in a cloud estate last the longest: how accounts are split, how networks join up, who can reach what, and what happens if a region fails. Zilo AI helps companies across India hire cloud architects who make those decisions deliberately, and cloud engineers who build and run the result. The two are often advertised as one job, but they are different: the architect decides the structure and answers for it, and the engineer turns it into working infrastructure.
Both are screened on real work across landing zones, cloud networking, identity, high availability, disaster recovery and migration plans, all codified and sized with cost in mind, on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. Hire on contract for a first landing zone or data centre exit, on contract-to-hire when you want to see someone influence your engineers, or on permanent terms for the person who will own the estate. Dedicated teams suit larger migrations.
Landing Zone Design
Account and subscription structure, guardrails and shared services, designed to hold up as your teams and products multiply.
Network and Identity
Cloud networking and identity foundations, including how your environments connect to each other and who is allowed into them.
Resilience and Migration
High availability, disaster recovery and migration plans matched to what the business can tolerate, rather than to a diagram template.
Sized With Cost in Mind
Designs that are codified and costed before they are built, so nobody learns the true price from the first monthly bill.
Roles We Fill
Cloud Roles We Fill
Hire a cloud architect to set the design, a cloud engineer to build it, then add DevOps, platform or site reliability engineers to run what sits on top.
DevOps Engineer
Automates the path from commit to production: CI/CD pipelines, container builds, infrastructure as code, secrets and configuration management, and blue-green or canary deployments with security scanning built in.
Cloud Architect / Cloud Engineer
Designs and builds cloud foundations on AWS, Azure or GCP: landing zones, account and network structure, identity, high availability, disaster recovery and migration plans, all codified and sized with cost in mind.
Platform Engineer
Builds the internal developer platform your teams deploy on: Kubernetes clusters, golden-path templates, self-service environments, a service catalog and paved-road CI/CD, so product engineers ship without filing tickets.
Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
Keeps production healthy with SLOs and error budgets, observability, capacity planning, incident response and blameless postmortems, and automates away toil so on-call stays sustainable.
For Recruiters & Hiring Managers
How to Hire a Cloud Architect or a Cloud Engineer
Plenty of ads say architect and describe daily tickets, or say engineer and expect someone to design an estate alone. Settle which job you have before you post it. These points will help you choose, and then screen for real design experience.

Interview questions worth asking
- How would you split accounts for a company with two products and one compliance-heavy customer?
- An acquired business has overlapping address ranges and needs your private services. What are your options?
- Should this product run across multiple regions? How would you decide, and what would it cost?
- Estimate this design on the whiteboard. Which line items are the largest?
- Tell me about a design decision of yours that turned out badly. How did you fix it?
- What worries you about a design with one NAT gateway and a database in a public subnet?
Decisions or Builds
If the first project needs a design document, hire a cloud architect. If the design exists and needs Terraform, networks and clusters, hire a cloud engineer. Mixing the two disappoints both groups.
Title the Post Honestly
A cloud architect job description should list the decisions the person owns and how much hands-on building you expect. For an engineer, swap design authority for provisioning and operations duties.
Name One Primary Cloud
Few people are expert in all three providers. State the platform you run, and treat experience of the others as a bonus unless the estate really is multi-cloud.
Review a Flawed Design
Share a diagram with planted weaknesses and ask what should change first. A short design review reveals far more than questions about service names or exam topics.
Say Who Holds Authority
An architect who can only advise tends not to stay. Be clear which standards the person sets and who signs off on spending and exceptions.
Consider a Contract First
A first landing zone or data centre exit has clear edges and suits a contract architect, followed by a cloud engineer who runs it. Ask for decision records at handover.
Engagement Models
Flexible Ways to Hire
Choose the model that fits your budget, timeline and team structure, and switch as your needs change.
Contract Staffing

Work with a professional on contract first, then convert them to a full-time employee once you are confident in the fit.
Best forDe-risking critical hires
Permanent Hiring
We source, screen and shortlist candidates for full-time roles on your payroll, and coordinate interviews through to the offer.

How do I tell a cloud architect from a cloud engineer?
The cloud architect decides how the environment should be structured and answers for those decisions. The cloud engineer builds and runs it, writing the infrastructure code and handling daily operations. Most architects start out as engineers.
Which cloud platforms do you hire for?
We hire cloud architects and cloud engineers for AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, covering landing zones, cloud networking, identity, high availability, disaster recovery and migration planning.
Do you offer contract cloud architect staffing?
Yes. You can hire a cloud architect on contract for a landing zone, migration or disaster recovery design, on contract-to-hire to confirm the fit first, or as a permanent employee.
How do you screen cloud architects?
Screening centres on real foundations candidates have designed or built, including landing zones, networking and migrations, and the Terraform and incidents behind them, instead of tool names alone.
How is a cloud architect different from a DevOps engineer?
Cloud architects settle structural questions on networks, identity and resilience. DevOps engineers then automate software delivery inside those limits using CI/CD and deployment tooling.
Can you staff a full cloud migration team?
Yes. A dedicated team can combine a cloud architect with cloud and DevOps engineers for a migration, working remotely, hybrid or on-site in India.
